2021 China Shanghai

This project is a merger of two well-known Chinese heritage brands: Zhou Huchen Pen Shop and Cao Sugong Ink Shop. Zhou Huchen Pen Shop, founded in 1694, has been in continuous operation for 326 years. It was awarded the imperial signboard by Emperor Kangxi and is regarded as one of China's four most famous pen brands. Meanwhile, Cao Sugong Ink Shop, established in 1667, has been in continuous operation for 353 years. Since the Kangxi era, it has been a workshop for imperial ink production and is the oldest surviving Chinese heritage brand in Shanghai, ranking among China's top four famous ink brands. This project is a national-level intangible cultural heritage production protection demonstration base. Due to urban redevelopment and factory relocation, these two heritage brands have selected a new location, planning to transform the original factory buildings into a base for cultural tourism, education, and production.
